The Road To Oz

The Road to Oz tells the story of Dorothy Gale as she escorts a shaggy traveler who appears outside her farm. They soon find themselves transported to a fantasy land. Upon realizing this, Dorothy and the Shaggy Man travel down the road with the assumption that it will lead them to Oz, revealing a way for Dorothy to return home. The story, published in 1909, is a return to Oz at the request of Baum's readers and features guest appearances from characters of his other fantasy books. The story is told in a style more like a travelogue compared to his other Oz books. L. Frank Baum (died 1919) was a prominent voice of the late 19th and early 20th century. Their work has endured across generations and continues to be read and studied worldwide. Fantastical literature has always allowed writers to explore human truths through the lens of the impossible and the magical. The Road To Oz draws on mythology, folklore, and pure invention to construct a world that illuminates our own.
