A father and a son in conflict but the father happens to be the Prime Minister who is under a lot of pressure with a failing economy. The son, Marcus, joins a new party - the IDM - which plans to abolish the old party system with a Parliament of Individual Democratic members who honour only their constituents and their consciences.
Marcus makes a speech at the IDM conference with a direct attack upon his father. The PM employs the Special Services to thwart his son's activities but they uncover more than he expected and the story spirals down with drugs, money laundering and finally murder.
