The Other Gods

In "The Other Gods" by H.P. Lovecraft, the high priest Barzai the Wise embarks on a daring climb to the peak of Mount Hatheg-Kla, seeking to witness the elder gods in their celestial glory. Accompanied by his disciple Atal, Barzai's hubris leads him beyond the boundaries of mortal knowledge. However, as he ascends, he discovers that there are powers far greater and more terrifying than he imagined—beings who guard their secrets jealously and do not tolerate mortal intrusion.
