The new medicine man

For the New Medicine Man, there is no patient that cannot be treated; no one is `beyond treatment. The modern doctor or specialist has simply done his job, and now he has run out of tricks. Resigned, they tell their patient he has to learn to live with his disease. The New Medicine Man says this is nonsense. An ailment is a disturbance in the system, which can be healed. The New Medicine Man has all the qualifications of a modern doctor, but he has more to offer: white magic. For this he uses techniques such as TA (Transactional Analysis) and NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming). The New Medicine Man gives food for thought to professionals, and sends out a signal of hope to patients who feel they are `beyond treatment.

Boris Bouricius (Rijswijk, the Netherlands, 1921) describes in this book how the arrival of the New Medicine Man can bring health care to a higher level. He also describes a large number of generally known `disturbances in the system from his own extensive experience as a family doctor. Nowadays, the writer spends the cold months of the year in Egypt, where he still rides a camel. He also runs a practice where his patients are never `beyond treatment.
