That is where this book begins.

What follows is a single argument, built in order, from the ground up. Each chapter rests on the one before it, and somewhere around the middle you may notice the early ones bearing weight they did not seem to be bearing at the time: that reality is made of difference; that difference has a structure nobody invented; that structure alone is inert and cannot make anything actual; and that actuality is enacted rather than described — always particular, and always from somewhere.

It uses the word God, and does not mean by it what you are probably expecting. It reaches that slowly, and names it only once the architecture can carry the weight.

Scattered through the chapters are moments that ask you to do something rather than consider something. Make a fist and open it. Look for the one who is looking. They take ten seconds, and they are not decoration — in several places the argument does not work unless you perform the thing and notice what happens.

Every position here is offered as the best fit available, never as a proof. Serious objections appear in their strongest form, in their own words. Where a question cannot be answered, the hole is left visible rather than filled.
