The Gargoyle Guardian: She Awakened Her Protector. He Decided to Protect Her Heart.

Elena Redbird returns to the historic town of her childhood and takes ownership of Blackthorn Hall, a crumbling building the entire community has written off as worthless. Quiet, sharp-minded, and far more fluent in ancient protective symbols than anyone realizes, she discovers a sleeping gargoyle hidden high in the rafters. When a supernatural threat begins testing the old wards, Elena uses forgotten family magic to awaken him.

Kieran Stone rises from centuries of stone sleep and immediately claims her as his charge. He takes the role of guardian with absolute literalism, glaring at every contractor who lingers too long and inserting himself between Elena and any perceived danger. Forced into constant proximity inside the half-restored hall, the two begin an uneasy partnership marked by dry banter, escalating tension, and a slow recognition that the magic binding them runs deeper than a simple protective spell.

As cold spots, whispers in the stone, and increasingly bold attacks focus on Elena, she starts to suspect the awakening was never accidental. Kieran may have waited through long, lonely centuries for a mind exactly like hers. Protective instinct collides with growing desire. Independence clashes with fierce claim. And the same ancient power that woke the gargoyle now draws a hungry remnant determined to claim the bloodline, the building, and the guardian himself.

In a gothic hall full of secrets, an overlooked woman and the monster she called into being must decide how much of themselves they are willing to risk. Can a heart made of stone learn to beat for someone who refuses to be only a charge?

Each standalone story in The Monsters She Made introduces a new woman, a new monster, and a completely unexpected love story.

Nobody warned them their creations would choose them back.

The women in this series are overlooked, underestimated, and done waiting for something that fits. Each one reaches for forgotten magic to build what doesn't exist yet. A wicker husband. A stone guardian. A perfect magical construct. A powerful kraken. A shadow beast with motives of his own. And more to come.

Each creation was supposed to stay obedient. Manageable. Safely within the bounds of what she intended.

None of them do.

Every monster develops a mind, a heart, and a pull toward the woman who gave him life that he has no interest in suppressing. Attraction deepens into something neither maker nor made has language for. These unlikely pairs discover that the strangest love stories carry the most weight, and that sometimes the one who truly chooses her is the one she built with her own hands.

The monster she made. The man he became. Exactly who she needed.
