As children of two of the most prominent families in the north of England, Gavin Keighley and Rose Denholme have been at odds their whole lives. Both families claim to have been cheated by the Duke of Tereford out of rightful ownership of the sprawling estate that borders their properties.

When the Duke and Duchess of Tereford come to town to get their estate in order, they invite Gavin, Rose, and their families for a visit to settle the feud once and for all.
