Gav indsigt i en krig på grænsen mellem middelalderen (georgiske børn sendt til Istanbul som slaver, soldater der marcherede frem på linje), og moderne tid (nye våben, menneskerettigheder, felthospitaler osv.). Fortalt relativt kort. Men i perioder tør gentagelse af slag og felttog, med stort brug af yndlingsordet "however". 3.5 stjerner.
