So, what is this book all about? This book will answer the basic questions about chicken raising and help you get started on the right foot. It will also help you as your chicken empire grows and keep you from being plucked apart by the competitive chicken raising business. I have tried to keep this book lighthearted and while also factual and helpful, after all once you start, I don’t want you to chicken out.

I’ve designed this book to help in your research and to get you started off on the right foot. First up, I’ll talk about some of the laws you’re going to have to know related to raising chickens where you live. Then I’ll dive deeper in the question of why do you want to raise chickens? What’s the real reason. Once you know exactly why you’re raising them and what you hope to accomplish, I’ll talk about how you can decide what is the best Chicken breed or type of chicken for you? Once you know which is the bird of choice, then it’s about how to house them, after all you have to have a place to keep them. Once they’re safe, I’ll talk about feeding them, and then keeping them healthy.
