The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is the record of Benjamin Franklin's life as written by the man himself, and is one of the most influential examples of an autobiography ever written. The book is divided into four parts, reflecting the different periods at which he wrote them. It has been described as 'the first self-help book' due to Franklin's constant preoccupation with self-improvement. To historians, it offers unique insight into the mind of one of America's Founding Fathers.
