#1 To read today’s scripture is to read the words of a man who, in the innermost part of his being, believed in the steady hand of a good God. He was protected by God’s strength, preserved by God’s love. He lived beneath the shadow of God’s wings.

#2 With Christ’s resurrection, he poleaxed the devil and turned every grave into short-term housing. Heaven’s angels were ready to celebrate, but Jesus wanted to cook fish tacos for his friends first.

#3 We should aim to be at home in Christ. He is not a roadside park or hotel room, but our permanent mailing address. We are comfortable in his presence, free to be ourselves.

#4 The book of Joshua tells the story of how the Israelites took control of the land of Canaan. They faced many obstacles on their journey, but Joshua led them forward with faith because he trusted his inheritance.
