Book Preview:

#1 I grew up in a suburb of Chicago called Downers Grove. I had a happy childhood, but I was always into weird things. I spent my childhood watching infomercials and sleeping on the couch. I never got anything from those shows, but I did have a happy childhood.

#2 My parents were extremely open-minded, and they never pressured me to get married or have kids early. They made it clear that they would love me no matter what I chose to do.

#3 I was very shy and quiet in school, and I spent most of my time with Maggie, my childhood soul mate. We were oddballs together, and it was finally okay for my strangeness and humor to come out.

#4 I loved being in Maggie’s family environment. We would try to shock each other, but it became a contest as to who could be the most shocking. We knew some curse words at this point in our lives, but we didn’t exactly know how to use them.
