#1 The first step to channeling the universe’s energy is to get the ego in check. This means we must take a good hard look at our desire to get overly involved in what we are channeling, and gently move ourselves out of the way while holding an intention for the highest good for all concerned.

#2 Ego is the part of us that wants to make our spiritual work into a performance. It is the desire to get involved with what’s happening and take credit. We must eliminate our ego to become clear channels, with as little personal involvement as possible.

#3 You must trust that what you have been shown through guidance is correct, that you are in alignment, and that you are acting in service of that guidance. As you climb through successes in your life, ego will eventually come in and try to take control of the situation. But you must trust that it is exactly what it should be.

#4 Ego is the main obstacle on the psychic path. It can appear as bravado, which is the way many people view it: a self-important sort of pride. Or it can appear as shame, when we are afraid of being judged by others.
