Summary of James Proud's Urban Legends

#1 A man was on his way to a job interview in Los Angeles when he died in a train accident. His fiancée heard about the crash while driving to the train station with his parents and siblings. Twelve hours after the accident, rescuers found him dead in the wreckage.

#2 A taxi driver was driving past a hospital one night when he was requested to take a young girl to a nearby lake. The girl didn’t answer any of his questions, so he drove to the destination in silence. When they arrived, the girl got out of the car without paying the fare and disappeared inside a house.

#3 The Japanese have a story about a swimmer who went for a swim in a lake every day. One day, he saw someone else in the lake, but as he approached the water, he realized that they weren’t swimming—they were drowning.

#4 A American boy was sleeping over at a friend’s house and they were playing a game of telling scary stories. The boy had seen all of his older brother’s scary movies, so he wasn’t that impressed with what he had heard so far. Then the cousin arrived and told them about a girl who was waiting for a train to her high school prom one night, when she saw a group of her friends on the other side of the tracks.
