#1 The Wright brothers were extremely inventive and adventurous. They had a family that supported their interests and activities. Wilbur was four years older than Orville, and he read extensively. They worked together on some projects, such as making a large lathe.

#2 In 1889, Orville and Wilbur began publishing a newspaper called the West Side News. It was a success, and they expanded into publishing a daily newspaper called the Evening Item. However, the competition was becoming intense, and the endeavor only lasted about four more months.
