#1 There is something buzzing around our churches that is sucking the lifeblood out of our men. But women seem largely unaffected. We will begin to identify this pesky affliction in the next six chapters.

#2 Men freely acknowledge the goodness of Christ, but they cannot see a place for themselves within the church. They feel that church is irrelevant to their lives, and they don’t feel like they need to go to church to be good people.

#3 Christianity’s primary delivery system, the local church, is perfectly designed to give us the results we’re getting. Men don’t see a compelling role for themselves within it, so they choose a church that doesn’t suck.

#4 The church is designed to fit the Venus values. Men who possess these values are usually comfortable in church, while men who possess Mars values are not.
