#1 The Psalms are a great source of solace and encouragement for God’s people. They are revelations of truth, but they are presented in the terms of human experience. They are honest with themselves, and that is why they are so valuable.

#2 We must deal with the Biblical teaching on this subject, and then we can go on to look at certain notable examples from the Bible and observe how the persons concerned behaved. We must not only extract the principles illustrated by the stories, but also the teachings.

#3 We must face this problem for the sake of the Kingdom of God and the glory of God. We must represent God and His message and power in such a way that people are drawn and attracted to us, even if we are depressed.

#4 The causes of spiritual blindness are many, and they are all related to the fact that we do not take the time to examine ourselves. We must take time to examine ourselves, because general statements are not enough in and of themselves.
