#1 I was invited to speak to several hundred Wall Street executives about mindset, risk, and overcoming obstacles. I was running a few minutes late as I hastily stepped into the building's lavish lobby. The doorman told me I wasn't supposed to be going to the penthouse.

#2 I was invited to a gathering of elite investors who knew each other for the purpose of screwing each other out of deals. As I took my seat at the table, I thought about how I didn’t really fit in. I was raised by strong-minded women, and now I was married to another strong woman who helped organize every detail of our projects.
