#1 Men in our culture walk a thin line. They must be sure their behavior conforms to what is considered manly, but they also must be sensitive and emotionally expressive. This has become more difficult than ever before.

#2 The training given to boys and girls is different, and has a significant influence on how they behave as adults. While we may not be able to completely undo a genetic disposition, we can shape it to some extent.

#3 The training of masculinity in boys begins at a young age, and continues through their lives. By the age of six or seven, they have already learned lessons about being male. They will not cry, and they may not even be able to ask for directions when they’re lost.

#4 The primary focus of males and females is very different. Connection to others is the name of the game for females of all ages, even in their play. Men, on the other hand, learn that the primary thing in life is doing or performing in the world out there, not in the family in here.
