Summary of Anita Moorjani's Dying to Be Me

#1 I was in a coma, and I was aware of everything that was happening around me. I was extremely excited to be free from the pain caused by the cancer that had ravaged my body. I wanted my family to share my joy, but they were instead fearful and anxious.

#2 I realized that even if my physical body stopped, I still belonged. I felt completely bathed in pure, unconditional love, and it made me feel as though I’d finally arrived.

#3 I was born in Singapore, and I was raised in three different cultures. I was afraid of my father, but I admired and looked up to my brother. I didn’t question the values of my culture, because I was too young at the time.

#4 I loved going to the market with my nanny, Ah Fong. I would gaze out the window as the tram made its way through the crowded, narrow streets of Hong Kong. I was mesmerized by everything I saw.
