Srimad Bhagwat Puran Part 8 Reigns of Manus

Through vast eras the wheel of time revolves,

As every age its unique problem solves;

The Lord descends to keep the balance true,

And starts the cycle of the world anew.

The mountain churns the ocean's frothing blue,

Until the nectar rises for the few;

Then Vamana comes to ask for three small paces,

And covers all the worlds and starry spaces.
