To cleanse the soul from every hidden stain, Angirasa guides the penance through the pain. [1] With ancient rules for every walk of life, Apastamba stills the chaos and the strife. [2] For those who seek the path of noble deed, Atri sows the dharmic, holy seed. [3] In codes of law and royal statecraft’s light, Aushanasi keeps the social order bright. [4] Where justice seeks the truth in every word, Brihaspati’s legal voice is clearly heard. [5] Within the home, where sacred hearths are fed, By Daksha's wisdom is the householder led. [6] The oldest root from which the branches grow, Gautama’s laws through all the ages flow. [7] Beyond the world, where quiet spirits dwell, Harita’s verses of the dharma tell. [8]
