Simul-Existenz: Spuren reformatorischer Anthropologie

Reformatorische Anthropologie findet ihre Zuspitzung in der Rede vom Christenmenschen als "simul iustus et peccator", als gerecht und Sünder zugleich. Eine solche Beschreibung erscheint lebensnah, indem sie noch den gerechtfertigten Christen in der Brüchigkeit seiner Existenz wahrnimmt. Doch schafft sie auch Verständnisschwierigkeiten. Lässt sich angesichts einer solch paradoxen Redeweise noch anschaulich vom Menschen sprechen? Der Sammelband beleuchtet aus evangelischer, römisch-katholischer und kulturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive Hintergrund und Bedeutung dieser reformatorischen Formel, spürt ihren kulturellen Wirkungen nach und prüft ihr Erschließungspotential für die Rede vom Menschen heute.

This definition appears lifelike by still perceiving the justified Christian in the fragility of his existence. But it also creates difficulties of comprehension. In face of such a paradoxical speaking, is it still possible to speak clearly of the human being? From the perspective of Protestant, Catholic and cultural studies, this anthology sheds light on the background and significance of this Reformation formula, traces its cultural effects and examines its potential for the reflection on man today.
