The Samkhya Sutra speaks of two, The ultimate design to view.
Purusha, consciousness, serene and bright, Is passive, resting in the light.
And Prakriti, the nature known, From which all matter has been grown.
She holds the three Gunas in her sway, That color objects day by day.
The intellect first starts to spring, The sense of "I" that ego brings. From these, the subtle world appears, The senses, thoughts, and worldly fears. The goal is insight, sharp and clear, To separate these two held near. To know the Self is never bound, By what within the world is found.
