In early 1980s Los Angeles, teenager Alex Jordanov and an up-and-coming rapper named Ice-T were among the founders of a club called the Radio that would change music forever. Against all odds, these two young outsiders helped build a scene that launched a cultural revolution.

Open for just two explosive years, the Radio was a club, but also a moment—a place that helped spawn West Coast hip-hop, and which drew the likes of Prince, Van Halen, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, who recruited dancers from the Radio’s ranks.
