Queerly Committed: 39 Years Together on the Road to OZ by Thomas Bailey

They say love is blind, and for Thomas Bailey that adage cannot be closer to the truth, for the first time he sees his future husband Carl is the moment when everything in his life changes forever.

Sometimes we associate love with the mystical, with overwhelming emotions that can’t be rationally explained. Queerly Committed takes us through all of the aspects of being in love—that first chance meeting, the butterflies and excitement, the commitment to each other, and also the difficult life adjustments and sometimes disagreements. All of it of course set against the back drop of the post-Stonewall revolution with its revolving triumphs and setbacks. But in the end, of course, love conquers all.

Thomas Bailey is a retired workers compensation claims executive living with his husband in Southern California where their adult daughter also lives. After majoring in Political Science at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, he received his law degree from the University of West Los Angeles. Born in a small town in Washington State, he has lived in the Chicago suburbs and Northern California's Central Valley but settled in the Los Angeles area soon after college graduation. He and his husband divide their time between the U.S. and an apartment in Spain's Costa del Sol. When not traveling, they love attending LA area LGBT pride festivals.
