Pocket Chord Book: Guitar Fretboard View

Twenty-one chords in every key, in a book that fits your guitar case.

Look up a chord and you get up to three places to play it: the best open shape where there is one, then grips that move up the neck. Every diagram shows the chord's degrees in the dots and the notes you hear under the strings, so you can see what each grip sounds as well as where it goes.

What is in it

• Every key: all twelve, each on seven pages, in the same order every time, so once you know where a chord is on the C pages you know where it is in any key. • Twenty-one chords: major, minor, seventh, major seventh, minor seventh, sus2, sus4, 7sus4, sixth, minor sixth, add9, ninth, major ninth, minor ninth, thirteenth, 7b9, 7#9, half-diminished, diminished, diminished seventh and augmented. • Up to three grips a chord, each with the root at the bottom, and a note under any grip that leaves a tone out. • A one-page table of every chord type and its degrees, so you can see how each chord is built. • Pocket size: 4.5 × 6 inches.

Every shape was found by searching the fretboard and keeping only the grips a hand can hold. The diagrams show degrees rather than finger numbers, so you learn how each chord is built as you look it up.

For any guitarist who wants a small, clear chord book to keep in the case, from the first open chords to ninths and thirteenths.
