When the plan succeeds, the results upend traditional hierarchies, sparking chaos among the powerful and privileged. Through sharp satire, farcical scenes, and biting social commentary, Aristophanes questions the relationship between wealth, virtue, and justice. A late work in his career, Plutus blends humor with philosophical inquiry, offering a vivid reflection on economic fairness, human greed, and the role of the gods in worldly affairs.
