It is from the known writings of Plato, particularly Timaeus and Critias, that we learn of the legendary island-nation of Atlantis. This book includes key excerpts from those original writings (occasionally in the mouthpiece of Socrates, Plato's mentor) and from the engaging research work of Sir Daniel Wilson. Gives a nice historical overview of this fascinating myth that has a basis in an ancient past, even if overly romanticized. Selected and edited by Professor David Christopher Lane, narrated by Shawn Hartel.
