Pigs is Pigs

"Pigs is Pigs" is a delightful and humorous short story written by Ellis Parker Butler. The story follows the misadventures of Mike Flannery, a station agent working for the Erie railroad company, and his encounter with bureaucratic red tape. When two guinea pigs are mistakenly shipped to the station, Mike Flannery is faced with the challenge of determining the proper freight rate for them. However, the situation quickly spirals out of control as he is caught in a series of comical misunderstandings with the railway company's officials over the classification of the animals. As the dispute over the freight rate escalates, Mike's creativity and wit are put to the test as he attempts to resolve the situation. The story humorously explores the absurdity of bureaucracy and the complexities of human nature.
