Out of Service: THE OKLAHOMA CITY RUN

Out of Service: The Oklahoma City Run

Some loads you deliver. Some loads deliver you straight into trouble.

DriveBy has hauled freight across every ugly stretch of American highway there is — the dead zones, the truck stops nobody talks about, the radio silence between exits that stretches on for miles. He knows how to keep his head down, his logbook clean, and his nose out of business that isn't his.

But a routine run to Oklahoma City doesn't stay routine for long. A five-thirty appointment in Carlisle turns into a receipt that doesn't add up. A napkin scribbled with numbers he wasn't supposed to see. A trooper who keeps finding reasons to pull alongside him on the interstate. And a voice on Channel 21 that seems to know exactly where he's headed before he does.

Somewhere between Fort Smith and the Oklahoma line, DriveBy realizes he's not just hauling cargo anymore — he's hauling a secret that certain people would kill to keep buried. Every truck stop becomes a place to watch his back. Every CB transmission might be a warning, or a threat. And the closer he gets to Oklahoma City, the clearer it becomes: some drivers finish their run. Others just go out of service.

A white-knuckle road thriller written by a real truck driver, Out of Service: The Oklahoma City Run rides shotgun with a man who's spent his life reading the road — and is about to learn that the most dangerous mile marker is the one you never see coming.
