Fakta

Khamu, an accomplished charioteer skilled with the bow, serves the pharaoh Ramesses in the Egyptian army. Yet when two old men insist that Pharaoh release the Hebrew slaves, Ramesses’ refusals lead to a series of catastrophes devastating the Egyptian people. Through Khamu we vividly witness his suffering and that of his people. Eventually, even his own trust in the Egyptian gods is shaken—being impotent against the Hebrew god.

After the horrifying tenth plague, Pharaoh releases the slaves. But as the Hebrews flee, Ramesses changes his mind, and sends his army in pursuit. Khamu, filled with vengeance over his family’s losses, leads the chariot charge into the Red Sea. But when Khamu finally encounters Moses, a whole new life begins. But what does it mean for the Israelites?

Faithfully following the familiar and turbulent biblical events of the Hebrew exodus, Moses’ Egyptian Warrior suggests how—through God’s protective involvement—the militarily incapable Israelites could have defended themselves, and even been prepared to conquer the Promised Land. It is a dynamic tale of battles, suffering, miracles, discrimination, infidelities, and betrayal that brings to life the experiences of both the Hebrews and the Egyptians during these most consequential times. It is also a story of one man’s painful questioning of beliefs, a new-found faith, and the commitment to face the daunting consequences of change—all of which should inspire the reader in their own journey of faith.
