More Jataka Tales

In "More Jataka Tales," Ellen C. Babbitt presents a selection of these traditional tales in a format accessible to young readers. The stories feature anthropomorphic animals as the main characters and impart moral lessons and teachings on virtues such as kindness, generosity, and wisdom. Each Jataka tale in the collection offers a glimpse into the past lives of the Buddha and explores various aspects of human nature and ethical values. The stories often illustrate the consequences of actions, the power of compassion, and the importance of making virtuous choices. Ellen C. Babbitt's retellings of the Jataka tales aim to introduce young readers to the rich cultural and moral traditions found in Buddhist literature. By presenting these ancient stories in an engaging and relatable manner, Babbitt invites children to reflect on the values and lessons contained within the tales. "More Jataka Tales" is an extension of the original Jataka tales collection, which has been treasured in Buddhist literature for centuries. Babbitt's adaptation brings these stories to a wider audience and allows children to appreciate the timeless wisdom and teachings found in these ancient narratives.
