Erotik
The fluorescent lights of the crowded theater lobby catch every drop soaking through her blouse. She is not supposed to be here like this, milk leaking with every shaky breath, the wet fabric clinging to her skin while strangers pass close enough to smell it on her.
He finds her like that. The venue owner, drowning in debt, watching his empire crumble. He sees the crowd slowing, heads turning, the flush spreading down her throat as she realizes she cannot hide what her body keeps giving. He takes her wrist and pulls her into the alcove behind the concession stand, where the machine hum drowns out her sounds. His hands are rough from hauling equipment and signing bad checks. When he lifts her shirt the air hits her first, then his mouth, then the groan he makes against her that vibrates through her chest.
She should push him away. She arches into him instead.
After, he walks her back through the lobby with his hand low on her spine, her blouse still damp, her nipples sore and obvious under the thin cotton. People stare. She feels it everywhere, the weight of knowing, the heat pooling where she is still slick from his fingers. He whispers that tomorrow there will be more witnesses. She spends the night wet and waiting.
What starts as transaction curdles into fixation. He books acts he does not want to fill his failing calendar, leaves gaps where she will stand in the wings, leaking, until he comes to find her. She stops wearing bras to rehearsals. He stops locking the office door. The milk is not the secret anymore. The secret is how badly she needs him to make her give it where someone might see.
Her troupe suspects. A reviewer attended the wrong show. The landlord wants a meeting she cannot take without soaking through her jacket. Each risk coils tighter, his grip on her breast in the supply closet, her begging against his shoulder while the board meeting continues through the thin wall, the ruin they court as eagerly as each other.
They are destroying her reputation and his solvency and whatever remained of their restraint. The only question is which audience finally breaks the lock, and whether they will still want each other when the watching ends.
