The Mexican state of Yucatan is famous for one of the most incredible archaeological sites – Chichen Itza, the ancient city of the Mayans.
It was one of the biggest Mayan cities and frequently described as mythical.
Archaeologists believe that it was once home to the the different ethnic groups of the ancient Mayans. This can be seen from the enormous diversity of the architectural styles.
Chichen Itza is one of the most popular places in Mexico. Thousands of tourists come here to get a closer look at the wonders created by the ancient Mayans.
