Melting the Frost: A Geothermal Sector Romance

The primary cooling loop screams red at hour thirty-six of Lira Voss's diagnostic. She's pulled from her console and sent into the lowest shafts, where the chamber walls are close to weeping. If they fail, the whole rise cooks.

Mine-security chief Kael Renn arrives already bleeding, already done with protocol. He's sealed hatches on dying crews before. He doesn't wait for authorization. In the suffocating steam of the Geothermal Sector, they argue numbers against instinct while the temperature climbs past every safe band. A pipe bursts. A harness holds. A look runs one beat too long.

Then the patch fails. Emergency bulkheads lock. In a maintenance alcove with almost no air left, work tips into want, and want becomes the only honest thing in the dark. But the failure wasn't only mechanical. Old clan markings point to sabotage. Kael recognizes the hand behind them. Trust cracks. Attraction doesn't wait for trust to catch up.

A cave-in separates them. Each believes the other is dead. Reunion is violent relief. Deeper still: two stations with no line of sight, a rival who wants the sector abandoned so the deep crews can own the ashes, and a chamber heart that holds more than either of them bargained for.

Lira and Kael have to choose between containing the disaster and surrendering to a heat that has nothing to do with magma.

In a world of eternal winter, can two people built for failure find a hold that lasts longer than a night?

Fifty years ago, a hostile alien sky swallowed the sun and buried the world under ice. Humanity went underground. It hasn't come back up.

The Beneath the Frozen Sun Series moves through that fractured underworld in a collection of standalone romances. Geothermal infernos, hidden polar vaults, steam-choked corridors where the walls sweat and the air tastes like metal: every corner of this subterranean realm throws diverse heroes and heroines together under extreme conditions and real danger.

Bound by heat, grit, and the specific closeness that comes from surviving something enormous together, these couples prove one thing: beneath a frozen sun, desire burns hotter than any flame.
