Mad Are We is a story about first connection, first love and first loss, through the eyes of an autistic teenage girl.

When teenage Imogen meets Sabrina, something shifts. She experiences a kind of friendship that feels real in a way she hasn’t known before. For once, she isn’t constantly second-guessing herself — what to say, how to respond, how to be. Slowly, the mask Imogen has carefully built to navigate the world begins to loosen, and parts of herself she usually keeps hidden start to surface.

Mad Are We explores the loneliness and disconnection that can come from sensory overwhelm and trying to follow unspoken social rules, alongside the intensity and relief of finally feeling understood. It is a story about first connection, first love and first loss.
