The book "Life Without Desire: A World After #MeToo" by Chris A. Sparow presents a dystopian vision of the world after the #MeToo revolution, where society has implemented drastic measures in response to the problem of sexual crimes. One of the key elements of the plot is the use of chemical castration as punishment for perpetrators of such offenses.
The author explores what a world without testosterone and sexual desire might look like, analyzing both the social and personal consequences. The main character, Carl, is a man convicted of sexually harassing actresses who undergoes chemical castration. His life changes radically—he loses his sexual drive and struggles to adapt to a new reality in which he must find his place.
The book raises questions about whether such punishment changes anything for the victims and examines the psychological and emotional effects of life without desire. It is a reflective story about the nature of human instincts, justice, and the boundaries of interference in human biology.
