Hindu Dharma presents Gandhi’s views on Hindu dharma. Gandhi, being a Hindu himself, closely observed and studied the philosophical discourse of Hindu dharma. Thought his lifetime, Gandhi engaged himself with the discourse of Hindu Scriptures and Hindu philosophy which is reflected in his speeches and writings. Leading a campaign against the British rule in India, Gandhi’s pursuit was inspired by the dharma.
Ahimsa (non-violence) and Truth are key concepts that he borrowed from the dharma to be used in his campaign. This book offers a fascinating peep into Gandhi’s understanding of the Hindu dharma and his ideologies that were inspired by the same making him into a leader that he was.
