Hidden in God's Heart: 40 Reflections to Draw You Close to Christ

When Your Soul Longs to Feel Closer to God

There are times when your heart simply needs more of God.

You may be tired of the noise and busyness of everyday life. Perhaps you miss those quiet moments when you felt especially close to Jesus. Or maybe you wonder why God sometimes seems so far away when what you really want is to feel his presence, hear his voice, and rest in his love.

Hidden in God’s Heart: 40 Reflections to Draw You Close to Christ invites you to slow down, step away from the demands of daily life, and make room for a deeper relationship with Jesus. Award-winning author Lisa Are Wulf offers warm, tender reflections that speak to the joys and struggles of a life of faith.

What if the distance you feel from God isn't because he has moved, but because life has pulled you away? What if you have become so busy doing things for God that you've forgotten the joy of simply being with him? And what might happen if you slowed your pace, quieted your thoughts, and made more room to listen for his voice?

These 40 days will encourage you to:

• Recognize God’s presence even in the midst of a busy, demanding life.

• Rediscover the peace and joy that come from simply being with Jesus.

• Deepen your relationship with Christ through quiet listening, prayer, and reflection.

Each reflection begins with Scripture and includes a devotional message, questions for deeper thought, a second Bible verse, and a prayer. A special “Silent Moment with God” gives you an opportunity to pause and listen for his gentle voice.

Organized around four themes—Connecting with God, Walking with God, Growing with God, and Abiding with God—these reflections offer many different paths toward a closer relationship with Christ.

Life will always bring challenges, distractions, and demands. But God is still near, ready to listen, comfort, guide, and welcome you into his presence.

Slow down. Be still. Open your heart to Christ—and discover the peace and joy of being Hidden in God’s Heart.
