Grumpy Orc Mechanic: Cozy Small Town Monster Romance Where Sunshine Human Woman Softens Guarded Protector Working Late Inside Mountain Garage

Gravel crunches beneath Harper Lane’s tires before the engine dies completely. The cheerful travel blogger didn’t plan on stopping in the mountains that day. A breakdown on a lonely road forces the detour, leaving her stranded in the quiet town of Briarwood Hollow.

The first person she meets is the last one she’d choose.

Dorak runs the local garage, and the orc mechanic likes things simple. Engines make sense. People usually don’t. He prefers silence to small talk, routine to surprises, and a workshop that smells of oil and warm metal. Fixing Harper’s car should have been straightforward: repair the problem, send her back down the road.

Done.

Harper has other ideas.

She asks questions. A lot of them. Her camera clicks while sunlight spills through the dusty garage windows, and her easy optimism refuses to bounce off Dorak’s rough edges. Slowly, bit by bit, she slips past the walls he’s built.

Annoyance softens.

What starts as reluctant tolerance turns into late evenings beside half-repaired engines, quiet laughter, and conversations neither of them expected to share.

Dorak knows this path leads nowhere good. Harper lives on the move, chasing stories from one country to the next. Briarwood Hollow, with its narrow roads and pine-covered ridges, is the only home he’s ever wanted.

Then something shifts.

Someone in the mountains has started watching her.

As the tension tightens and Harper’s time in town runs short, Dorak faces a truth he never planned to confront. Protecting her isn’t just instinct anymore. It’s something deeper something that could leave him shattered once she drives away.

For Harper, staying anywhere has always felt impossible.

Yet this quiet mountain town and the stubborn orc who fixes broken machines makes her hesitate for the first time in years.

When the car finally runs again and the road calls her forward, what will Harper choose?

Welcome to Orcs of Briarwood Hollow.

Twenty years ago, something strange tore open the sky. People later called it the Riftfall. The event split thin seams between worlds, and a handful of powerful orcs stepped through before the tear sealed again.

Some chose to stay.

They settled quietly in the mountain town of Briarwood Hollow, building homes at the edge of the pines where cold wind rolls down the slopes. At first the humans watched from a distance, unsure what these newcomers might do.

The stories had been wrong.

The orcs weren’t the monsters whispered about in old tales. They became mechanics fixing stubborn engines, farmers turning dark soil, riders crossing rough trails, protectors who stand firm when trouble appears. Loyal to their people. Intense in ways humans rarely expect.

Life in Briarwood Hollow looks calm enough. Morning mist curls above the rooftops, and the scent of woodsmoke drifts along the main street. Yet tension simmers just beneath the quiet.

Especially when stubborn humans collide with possessive orcs who refuse to release what they claim.

Arguments start easily. So do long looks that linger too long.

Because in this small mountain town, love doesn’t arrive politely.

It crashes straight through the door and never leaves quietly.
