Glinda of Oz

"Glinda of Oz" is the fourteenth and final book in L. Frank Baum's beloved Oz series, published posthumously in 1920. In this enchanting tale, Princess Ozma and Dorothy embark on a daring adventure to prevent a war between the Flatheads and the Skeezers, two rival factions in the magical land of Oz.

The story begins with Dorothy and Ozma visiting the isolated island of the Skeezers, ruled by the ambitious Queen Coo-ee-oh. When the queen imprisons them on her submerged island, Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, leads a rescue mission. With the help of other familiar characters like the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion, Glinda devises a plan to save Dorothy, Ozma, and bring peace to the warring factions.

"Glinda of Oz" showcases Baum's rich imagination and his ability to weave whimsy, magic, and moral lessons into his storytelling. The book, with its themes of friendship, bravery, and wisdom, serves as a fitting conclusion to the classic Oz series, leaving a lasting impact on children's literature.
