Embracing Parkinson's: A Personal Account of Acceptance and Healing

Embracing Parkinson’s is a story about a special friendship between two individuals brought together by a common interest, Parkinson’s disease (PD). Frank was diagnosed with PD in August 2007. He was referred to Joe, a local movement disorder specialist, by Johns Hopkins Neurology in early 2008.

From their first meeting, Frank and Joe shared a common vision and belief in using the life lessons taught from the game of football - dedication, commitment, perseverance and overcoming adversity – to compete with PD.

As you listen to Frank and Joe, you may get the feeling that you are sitting in a football locker room hearing a pre-game motivational speech. Embracing Parkinson’s provides inspiration and hope for anyone touched by PD and their caregivers.
