“It’s my twenty-fifth birthday,” I said to the attractive woman who I had been checking out for the past few minutes. I never felt confident approaching people at a bar, but I had my reasons.

I was feeling overly confident and seductive.

“Really,” she said with a smile. She was wearing a rather modest red blouse with a key-hole cutout at the top that hinted at her cleavage. It also let a couple of brightly colored tattoos peek out from its short sleeves. Neither of those things were the most remarkable thing about her. It was the purple hair that caught my eye. Her hair was mostly purple, but the ends were tinted green. “I’ve never been with a younger man in my life.”

The conversation had gone from zero to ninety in less than a second. My pants tightened in a satisfying way.

“I’ve been with an older woman,” I said. “I think. But you hardly look older than me.”
