Covert Ops: The Golden Camel

A vanished oil-field admin. A predatory recruitment racket. And a desert island where extraction could turn into a body count. Fresh off a bruising mission, Steve, George, and Simon are hired by Nasir, a Southampton community leader, to find Joby—an oil-field admin who disappeared after being sent to Mano, a small island off Oman. The trail leads to The Golden Camel, an “employment agency” that preys on desperate workers, skims up to 80% of their wages, and keeps people compliant with fear.

From Muscat’s back alleys in Ruwi to the marina at Jebel Sifah, the team builds the op: source weapons, bribe the right doors, and hitch a covert ride to Mano. What starts as a clean snatch-and-go quickly turns into a hornet’s nest of double blinds, bugged offices, and the growing suspicion that someone has been setting them up from the start.

Then Mano proves to be the worst kind of trap. Joby is alive, but protected by Golden Camel enforcers and overseen by the syndicate’s top brass. Getting him out means crossing open sand, slipping through hoist yards, and surviving a firefight when John Nair himself arrives with riflemen in tow. One wrong move, and none of them go home.

Narrated for listeners who want the pace to stay high, Covert Ops is ideal for a commute, a workout, or a late-night listen when you want the tension to keep tightening.

• Real OP craft, desert movement, and on-site deception planned from Muscat to Jebel Sifah to Mano • A ruthless scam exposed: recruitment, debt-bondage, and muscle that “collects” for the office across from the motel • Interrogations, counter-surveillance, and booby-trapped failsafes when the mission goes loud • Brotherhood banter and PTSD-sharpened instincts, with humour that cuts through the pressure

Perfect for fans of Tom Clancy, Andy McNab, and Lee Child—listeners who want gritty authenticity, covert chess, and relentless action with heart.
