After escaping Firiell, Ksara Sepheron, Gerrin Ruu, and their newest crewmate, Ruerig, take time for some beachside relaxation. However, tranquility is fleeting as fate thrusts a dying boy upon them from the unforgiving ocean. Stakes skyrocket as Ksara contracts the same ominous plague. Desperate for a cure, the crew heads to Noldorin only to find the seafaring town devoid of medicine. Their only hope: a reclusive enchantress living on a secluded island. With no other recourse, the trio takes to the sea.
