EPISODE 1

On a summer's day in Tivoli, a woman sits on a bench nursing her baby when a pale, elderly man sits down beside her. In his hand, he holds a pistol.

Two and a half years later, journalist Kurt Østergaard finds an envelope in his mailbox – a greeting from a dead man.

Radiation expert Søren Storm is working his last day before Christmas vacation and is expecting his first child. A mailman in Copenhagen rides his route with thoughts that have nothing to do with mail. And in the basement beneath Rigshospital, a prisoner serving a life sentence for crimes against humanity is led in for radiation treatment under heavy guard.
