Accompanied by a guinea pig rescued from a restaurant in Peru, Melissa joins other characters new to the series: a lawyer seeking a home where she and her dog can breathe free, a young girl hoping the father she has never met will provide sanctuary for herself and a Basset Hound destined for euthanasia, and a young man with Down Syndrome who paints the animals that reveal themselves to him in the peeling paint and shadows of the airport’s office wall.
