Religion og spiritualitet
In Christianity in the Crosshairs, Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, shows how the ruling class allied with the radical left to fundamentally transform America. But patriotic and independent-minded Americans—particularly faithful Catholics—are impeding their progress. As a result, these defenders of faith and family have become the targets of an ongoing campaign of persecution. Donohue analyzes at length the many fronts of this war on Christianity and then calls upon his readers to fight back.
The ruling class, argues Donohue, has teamed up with radicals to remake American cultural institutions and weaken civil liberties guaranteed in the Constitution. Seduction and control are what motivates elites, especially those who occupy the command centers in the political arena. More than anything else they want the creation of a compliant citizenry. Unlike the tyrants of old, today’s ruling class opts for democratic despotism, the soft version of totalitarianism. They are no less a threat to freedom. The elite class and their radical allies are willing to do anything to accumulate more power and control. Despite their efforts, however, Donohue reminds Christians of how we can battle effectively “against the world rulers of this present darkness.”
