Christian English Qabalah: The Letters, the Virtues, and the Way of the Heart

The Tree of Life has twenty-two paths in Hebrew. Christian English Qabalah, the third volume of the Catharturgy Corpus, gives it twenty-six in English, one for each letter, and seats ten virtues on its stations: Love at the heart, Peace and Respect above it, Valor and Honor below, Base at the foundation, Life in the Kingdom, and three above the Abyss that exceed naming. This is the practical volume of the Corpus, the map and its use. It opens with an orientation for the newcomer, Before the Letters, and then states the system in full: the argument for the twenty-six paths, the four river paths that join the executive to the foundation, the English names, the ten virtues, and their grounding in the brain. It joins six of the virtues in three elemental balances, Fire, Water, and Air, each figured by one of Plato’s solids, with Earth beneath them and Spirit above, and reads the Tree in its four elemental registers, from Life in the Kingdom to the Fire of the supernals. The book then reads the disorders of the mind as imbalances of the Tree, from anxiety and obsession to shame, self-loathing and the weight of the ego, teaches the Observation Principle and the Way of the Heart by which they are watched and healed, and follows the judgments of the Kabbalistic tradition from their history to their sweetening. It examines the two offices of the foundation and the quartered stations, and it closes with the lineages from which the Corpus descends, the Hermetic, the Anthroposophical, the Rosicrucian, and the Martinist: what it inherits from each, and what it declines. Its six parts are Before the Letters; The Christian English Qabalah and the Virtues, with Their Measured Anatomy; The Elemental Balances and the Five Solids; The Disorders Read on the Tree; TheTwo Offices and the Two Organs; and The Lineages: Catharturgy Among the Traditions. Fourteen plates, including the five Platonic solids in colour and the Tree of the Twenty-Six Paths, accompany the text.
